    ReplyDelete
  45. Be aware of that Paoix, if they happen to you in school, be man enough to face those bullies. By facing, i do not mean to stoop to their level, rather, call their bluff and report to the proper school authorities, report to MSWDO and lastly, tell your Mom. Goddluck and Godbless baby

  62. Bullying left scars in the psychological and psychosocial make-up of children. If one has to make a psycho-mapping of a criminal, it is a guarantee that somewhere along his or her history, he or she is bullied or rendered helpless.

  66. Bullying has that deck of cards phenomena wherein when one is a kid bully, he will be a teenager bully, then an adult bully. Ultimately, when he is father, his kid will also be a bully. Sad truth. Thanks for this Pao!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I feel for the School Administrators...they just dont know what to do. they are powerless. if they discipline a kid, they will be sued. if they inform the parents, the parents do nothing. if they expell the bully, the problem moves to another school. With your blog Pao, I hope everyone will see the middle ground. the most practical one with no band-aid effect. thank you

  73. My two cents. Bullying is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly. It has grave consequences especially to our school-age children. Furthermore, there can be legal consequences to teachers and schools who do not respond to substantiated cases of bullying on school grounds.

  74. All-in-all, a great blog from our soon-to-be lawyer in the family John Paolo. How does Atty. Pao sounds like? Hehehe. Much better than Doc Pao? Congratulations and Goodluck Paolo!!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I was bullied by my wife to comment also Pao. But reading this, I agree wholeheartedly with my bayaw, Atty. Art. Bullying is no joking matter. It must be addressed immediately and severely even in the courts of law. Juvenile violence is becoming rampant and we will not be the next Mexico where gangs started young. Very young indeed.

  76. Under Philippine laws, bullies can face the consequencies of their actions, even charged criminally. Republic Act No. 10627, or The Act Requiring All Elementary and Secondary Schools to Adopt Policies To Prevent and Address the Acts of Bullying In Their Institutions painted the roadmap in responding to bullying in the schools.

  79. True, true. From a simple mother like me, I would hate it very much if my son and daughter will be bullied. This blog is an eye-opener Pao, thank you very much. With an OFW for a father, I am very afraid sometimes that my kids will be helpless in responding to bullying incidents in school. With their handicap of an absent father figure, will they be powerless themselves against bullies?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Me too. That incident in Ateneo just rubs our eyes from the illusion that our kids in private schools are truly protected. An absentee mom like me endured sleepless nights thinking what the future will bring to my son with bullies around and no mom to defend him.

I am hoping that some people may actually stop bullying by cooperating with every individual that may or may not be important with their lives. In order to do so we must start with being advocates of love and peace. I'm also hoping that some of the bullies that I know will really take their time in reading this as I did afterall it's already 2019, we should all act as mature individuals capable of making prudent decisions in every situations that we may encounter on our daily lives.
